Encaustic workshop…

July 7, 2013

I’ve just finished a 3 day Encaustic workshop with Patricia Baldwin Seggebruch… she is a phenomenal teacher – giving out just the right amount of inspiration and guidance to get us going and then plenty of free time to explore and make our own discoveries…

this is 2 of a triptych – using plaster and bitumen

I can’t believe I got so much done – and in a atmosphere of experimentation – I am happy with what I achieved… the luxury of time in a studio with lots of materials!

This is a medium I can imagine going on with – I love the layers and the possibilities and the magic of things unexpected…

  1. This looks great Jo, one can tell you enjoyed the workshop, your pieces show your enthusiasm. The medium looks fascinating, the colours are so sympathetic to one another, and i love that sticky, wet look. Hope you get the chance to explore this world more in the future.
